LinkedIn lead generation agency ten firms, three motions, compared

A LinkedIn lead generation agency turns LinkedIn into meetings for your sales team.

In practice it runs one or more of three motions: founder and employee content, LinkedIn Ads, and direct outreach.

This page compares ten firms we checked on their own websites on October 16, 2026, with prices only where they publish them.

It also covers what most agency lists leave out: what LinkedIn's own User Agreement says about automation tools, what LinkedIn charges at minimum, and the questions that separate a pipeline partner from a connection-request machine.

01/ the service

What a LinkedIn lead generation agency does three motions, one pipeline

A LinkedIn lead generation agency uses LinkedIn to create sales conversations with the companies you want to sell to.

The label covers very different businesses, so start by asking which of the three motions an agency actually runs.

Organic content means posts, comments and newsletters from your founder and senior people, written or ghostwritten in their voice.

LinkedIn Ads means paid campaigns in Campaign Manager: Sponsored Content, Thought Leader Ads, Lead Gen Forms and messaging ads.

Outreach means finding people in Sales Navigator and starting conversations through connection requests, InMail and messages.

Most agencies sell one motion.

Content studios rarely touch Campaign Manager.

Ads agencies rarely send a message.

Outreach agencies often work through automation tools that LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits.

The best results usually come when the three are planned together, because each one makes the others cheaper.

LinkedIn lead generation agency, LinkedIn ads agency, LinkedIn outbound agency: what is the difference?

A B2B LinkedIn ads agency runs paid campaigns and is paid a management fee on top of the media you pay LinkedIn.

A LinkedIn outbound agency runs prospecting from your profile or your team's, usually for a monthly retainer.

A LinkedIn content or ghostwriting agency runs your organic presence.

"LinkedIn lead generation agency" can mean any of these, so read the service list before the case studies.

04/ LinkedIn Ads

B2B LinkedIn ads for lead generation the formats an agency should use

A B2B LinkedIn ads agency earns its fee by choosing the right format for each stage, not by running every format at once.

These are the pieces, with LinkedIn's own rules for each.

Start with LinkedIn's minimums

LinkedIn's minimum daily budget is $10 for any ad format, and the minimum lifetime budget for a new campaign is $100.

On a given day, actual spend can run up to 100% above the daily budget, but a continuous campaign won't spend more than seven times the daily budget in a week.

What LinkedIn says about automation from the User Agreement and Help Center

This is the part of LinkedIn outbound most agencies leave out.

Every line below is LinkedIn's own wording or a regulator's, checked today.

QuestionWhat LinkedIn saysSource
Can we use bots to send connection requests or messages? No. Members agree not to "use bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages".LinkedIn User Agreement, section 8.2
Can we scrape profiles into a list? No. Members agree not to use software, scripts, robots, crawlers, browser plugins or add-ons "to scrape or copy the Services, including profiles and other data".User Agreement, section 8.2
Are browser extensions that automate activity allowed? No. LinkedIn does not permit third-party software, including crawlers, bots, browser plug-ins or extensions, "that scrape, modify the appearance of, or automate activity on LinkedIn's website".LinkedIn Help, Prohibited software and extensions
What happens if we use them?Members who use such tools "risk having their accounts restricted or shut down", and the tools may stop working without notice.LinkedIn Help
Can an agency log in as us?Members agree not to use another person's account, "such as sharing log-in credentials or copying cookies".User Agreement, section 8.2
Is there a cap on connection requests?Yes. All members, Basic and Premium, are subject to invitation limits; hitting one typically restricts invitations for about a week, and LinkedIn will not lift it on request.LinkedIn Help, Invitation limit reached
Can we add a note to every request?Basic members can personalize five connection requests a month; Premium members can personalize them without limit.LinkedIn Help
Any other hard limits?A network cap of 30,000 first-degree connections. A withdrawn invitation can't be resent to the same person for up to three weeks.Network size limit; restrictions
Is public profile data free to scrape?Twelve data protection authorities, including the UK ICO, said publicly accessible personal information "is still subject to data protection and privacy laws in most jurisdictions".ICO, joint statement on data scraping (Aug 2023)

LinkedIn does not publish a number for the weekly invitation limit, so be wary of any agency that quotes one as if it were official.

This is not legal advice.

In the 2025 Edelman and LinkedIn study of 1,934 business decision makers, 71% of "hidden buyers" said they have little or no interaction with sales teams, and 95% said strong thought leadership makes them more receptive to sales and marketing outreach.

Note that LinkedIn co-produced the study.

Budget for both sides. Kiin, for example, says a genuine full-funnel LinkedIn test needs roughly $4,000 a month in media on top of its fee.

A low monthly price for outreach usually means a tool doing the sending, so ask how messages go out (see LinkedIn's rules).

08/ reach

How big is the audience? and why it is not the point

LinkedIn reports more than 1.3 billion members, with 290 million-plus in North America and 430 million-plus across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Those are member counts, not active buyers.

For lead generation the number that matters is how many people at your target accounts you can reach, and how often.

For example, a list of 2,000 named accounts is a small audience on a network that size, which is why targeting and creative matter more than budget size.

09/ choosing

Which LinkedIn motion should you start with? pick your situation

What is true of your company today?

Content first

Start with founder-led content

If your founder or experts can say specific, useful things about your market, content is the cheapest motion and makes the other two work better.

  • ✓ Regular interviews with the founder
  • ✓ Posts approved before publishing
  • ✓ Track who engages, by account

Risk: a ghostwriter who makes your founder sound like everyone else.

10/ before you sign

How to judge a LinkedIn lead generation agency eight questions to ask

01

Which motions do you actually run?

Content, ads, outreach, or all three.

Ask for an example of each from a company like yours.

02

How are messages sent?

By a person, or by software?

LinkedIn prohibits bots and unauthorized automation.

Get the answer in writing.

03

Will you need our login?

The User Agreement bars sharing log-in credentials or copying cookies.

Ask how they work without them.

04

Who owns the ad account and data?

The ad account, Page, audiences and lead data should be in your company's name, with the agency added as a user.

05

How do you pick who to target?

A named account list and the signals that move an account up it, not just job titles and industries.

06

What do you report?

Meetings held, opportunities and pipeline from your CRM.

Clicks, impressions and connection acceptance rates are not outcomes.

07

Who writes in our founder's voice?

A named writer, an interview process, and the founder approving every post before it goes out.

08

What does it cost all-in?

Agency fee, LinkedIn media, Sales Navigator seats and tools, as separate lines.

And the notice period.

11/ walk away

Red flags in a LinkedIn agency proposal what we would question

"Thousands of connection requests a month"

Every member is subject to invitation limits.

Volume promises usually mean automation on your account.

A browser extension or "cloud" tool on your profile

LinkedIn says members using such tools risk restriction or shutdown.

The account at risk is yours, not the agency's.

Scraped contact lists

Twelve regulators, including the ICO, say public personal data is still covered by data protection law.

Ask where every list comes from.

Engagement pods and fake likes

The User Agreement bars bots that like, comment or share to "drive inauthentic engagement".

Reporting stops at cost per lead

A cheap Lead Gen Form lead nobody calls is not pipeline.

Ask how leads reach sales and what happens next.

The ad account is in the agency's name

You lose the history, audiences and learning when you leave.

Keep accounts in your company's name.

LinkedIn lead generation agencies FAQ

What B2B teams ask before they hire a LinkedIn agency for content, ads or outreach.

It runs one or more of three motions on LinkedIn: founder and employee content, LinkedIn Ads, and outreach through Sales Navigator and messages, aimed at booking meetings.

See what a LinkedIn lead generation agency does.

It depends on the motion: Kiin, Impactable and B2Linked for LinkedIn Ads, Rethoric and Underdog for founder content, SalesBread, Lead Cookie and Sopro for outreach, or GTM Quest for all three in one system.

See the agencies.

Published fees run from Cleverly's $397 to $997 a month for outreach to $2,500 to $3,000 a month for LinkedIn Ads management at Kiin, Impactable and B2Linked, plus media.

See pricing.

LinkedIn's minimum is $10 a day per campaign for any ad format, and $100 as a lifetime budget for a new campaign.

A useful test usually needs far more.

An agency that prospects on LinkedIn for you: Sales Navigator lists, connection requests, messages and follow-up until a meeting is booked.

Ask how messages are sent; see manual vs automation.

Yes.

LinkedIn's User Agreement bars "bots or other unauthorized automated methods" to add contacts or send messages, and members using such tools risk restriction or shutdown.

See LinkedIn's rules.

LinkedIn applies invitation limits to all members but does not publish the number; hitting it usually blocks invitations for about a week.

Basic members can personalize five requests a month.

Ads that promote a member's own post, such as your founder's, with their permission.

The post must be public and the author's profile must show their full name (LinkedIn Help).

LinkedIn says its average Lead Gen Form conversion rate is 13%.

Sync leads to your CRM promptly, because LinkedIn deletes lead data after 90 days.

Core is $99.99 a month per license, or $959.88 a year; Advanced is $179.99 a month, or $1,679.88 a year.

LinkedIn's own FAQ on the same page still quotes Core from $119.99, so check the price at checkout.

Keep the founder's voice and the sending in-house where you can; hire for ads management and the system around it.

Either way, keep the ad account, Page and data in your company's name.
